    2024 USA Gymnastics All Around Champions

    We are excited to announce that the call for nominations to be part of the State Committee are now OPEN! This is a fantastic opportunity for passionate individuals to step forward and contribute to the growth and development of gymnastics in Connecticut. Serving on the State Committee not only allows you to take on a leadership role but also empowers you to make a meaningful impact in our gymnastics community. From August 1st through August 15th, we encourage all interested candidates to consider running for one of the available positions. Your involvement is crucial in fostering a supportive environment for our athletes and ensuring the continued success of our programs. Together, we can make a difference!

    NOMINATION PROCESS

    Any USA Gymnastics member can nominate (nominator) a person (nominee) for any open position, provided both individuals are considered a member in “good standing”.

    • A member in good standing is defined as a person who has complied with all aspects of the program as outlined in the Rules and Policies, including having a current USA Gymnastics membership.

    To be eligible, a nominee must be:

    1. A Women's Program member in good standing for a minimum of two (2) consecutive years immediately prior to the nomination.
    2. At least 21 years old.
    3. Able to meet the criteria listed below.

     

    2025-2027 SAC-CT (CT State Committee)

    CALL FOR Nominations

    The Women’s Program is seeking nominations for the positions of:

     

    Vice Chairman:

    The Vice Chairman supports the State Chair (SC) in all areas, particularly with the execution of State and State Committee meetings. This position also serves as Secretary, responsible for recording meeting minutes and ensuring the publication and maintenance of Connecticut-specific rules and policies under State Committee discretion. In the absence or incapacity of the SC, the Vice Chairman represents the State.

     

    Competition Chairman:

    The Competition Chairman acts as the USAG State Representative during State Championships if the SC is unavailable. This individual assists in building and updating the State Competition Schedule, posts the official calendar, and collects and tracks meet scores for mobility and state qualification. They also serve as a resource for local meet directors, providing guidance on meet logistics and best practices.

    

    Levels 9/10 Coaching Representative:

    This representative collaborates with the Regional Committee and Judging Representative to develop educational clinics and activities for Level 9/10 and Elite programs. They help coordinate an adequate number of in-state meets, recommend policy changes, share updates with the community, attend regional events, and assist with apparel sizing for regional competitions.

     

    Level 9/10 Judging Representative:

    Holding at least a Brevet or National rating, this representative partners with the Coaching Rep and Regional Staff to coordinate clinics and training for judges and coaches in Levels 9/10 and Elite programs. They inform the membership of updates, may serve as Meet Referee for State Meets, and provide a vetted list of judges eligible for the State Championships.

     

    Levels 6/7/8 Coaching Representative:

    This individual works closely with the Clinic Coordinator to develop training opportunities for coaches and judges at Levels 6, 7, and 8. They help organize the in-state competition calendar, propose policy changes, share updates with the community, attend regional events, assist in collecting regional entries, and help size apparel for meets.

     

    Levels 6/7/8 Judging Representative:

    With a minimum Level 10 rating, this representative collaborates with the Coaching Rep and Clinic Coordinator to plan educational experiences for the Levels 6/7/8 community. They keep the membership updated, may serve as Meet Referee, and provide a list of available judges for State Championships.

     

    Compulsory Coaching Representative:

    This representative focuses on the compulsory levels, working with the Judging Rep and Clinic Coordinator to organize clinics and educational programs. They distribute judging clinic information to clubs, regardless of judging interest, and propose policy changes to the committee when necessary.

     

    Compulsory Judging Representative:

    With a minimum Level 9 rating, this role involves collaborating with the Coaching Rep and Clinic Coordinator to plan state clinics for the compulsory levels. The representative communicates updates, recommends eligible officials for State Championships, and supports educational initiatives in the program.

     

    XCEL Coaching Representative:

    Dedicated to the XCEL program, this representative works alongside the Judging Rep to develop clinics and educational content for coaches and judges. They share relevant updates with members, ensure judging clinic opportunities are publicized to all clubs, and support regional apparel preparation.

     

    XCEL Judging Representative:

    Also focused on the XCEL program and holding at least a Level 9 rating, this individual partners with the Coaching Rep to create clinic opportunities, distribute updates, and provide a list of eligible judges for the XCEL State Championships.

     

    State Clinician Coordinator:

    Responsible for the planning and execution of state clinics across all competitive levels, this individual works in tandem with other committee members to organize clinic sites and coordinate clinicians to ensure comprehensive training is available for both coaches and judges.

     

    All-Members At Large:

    The All-Members At Large position represents the general membership of USAG-CT, rather than any specific club, region, or demographic group. Members in this role are tasked with acting in the best interest of the entire membership, contributing to discussions, decisions, and planning efforts that align with the organization’s mission and values. Responsibilities include attending regular meetings, voting on key matters, and supporting various initiatives such as event planning, policy development, and community engagement. Members At Large also gather feedback from the broader community to ensure diverse perspectives are reflected in leadership decisions.

     

    Website Update & Maintenance (Webmaster):

    Role Overview: As a member of the USAG State Committee, this position is responsible for updating and maintaining the state committee’s website. The committee member will work closely with the State Chair to implement necessary changes and updates to the website as directed. This includes making content updates, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining the website's functionality to reflect the latest information and initiatives from the State Chair and committee.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Regularly update the website with content provided by the State Chair.

    Implement changes to the website as requested by the State Chair, ensuring timely and accurate execution.

    Ensure the website is user-friendly, up-to-date, and functioning properly.

    Collaborate with the State Chair to review website structure and suggest improvements when necessary.

    Maintain a clean and organized backend for easy access to the most current materials.
